The label’s first sampler includes prominent names such as Dumb Plants - mixed by London based producer Howie B - electro band JungleMico Project and the “Son of Shanghai’s techno” Ma Hai Ping.
The sampler’s artwork was designed by comical grotesque artist Chris Drury -member of the Manchester based jazzy hip hop trio Fingathing and coworker of electronic music producer Mr.Scruff- who was invited to Beijing for a week, to experience the chaotic yet fascinating life in the Gulou area.
His works resemble the “new” and “old” contrast so typical of Beijing. In other words, the essence of this 21st century China.
Although the electronic wave is always present, the sampler’s genre flows from deep house, trance, techno to experimental, trap and ambient music.
